Internship Experience #17 | Ms. Clarisse Anastase

My name is Clarisse and I am a 23 year old student from Paris, France. I am staying in Singapore for four months as a marketing intern.

What are your duties on a day-to-day basis?

My main duties are to work on the digital marketing side, particularly on the website of the company. I have to find and write content, like industry news or articles, and promote it on networks like LinkedIn.

I also work on business development, sending mails or making calls to contact prospects and obtain meetings with them.

I finally help the compliance team with tasks as they might need, for instance preparing templates or collecting data.

Why you chose Singapore?

I wanted to have a first experience in the Asian market, as it is gaining more and more importance in the global economy. I felt like Singapore was the perfect place to discover the way business was done in SEA and experience the multiple cultures of the region.

Moreover, the quality of life in the city as well as the easy access to the neighbouring countries was very appealing on a personal level.

What is your plan after the internship?

I will take a short break in Japan before going back to class. Beginning next September, I will be completing my last year of studies to graduate from my French Master’s in Management, which I will do in the UK as part of a university exchange programme.

How could you present Singapore to further interns?

Singapore really stands out in South East Asia for its cleanliness, its safety, its multicultural population and the wide range of food available at all hours of the day (and night!). Because of all these things, life is also more expensive here than in the other countries of the region. But I can guarantee that living here would be a unique experience on a professional and personal level and it will give great value to your profile to future recruiters.
